Plants and hospitality

The gardens of Castel Trauttmansdorff castle are probably one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Europe. A natural amphitheatre covering an area of 12 hectares displays plants from (almost) all climatic zones of the world. The Provincial Museum of Tourism “Touriseum“, also located on the grounds, tells the story of the development of tourism in our beautiful country.

Merano was – and still is – a spa town. The abundance of enchanting promenades in the town and surrounding area bear witness to this. Winter promenade, summer promenade, Tappeiner promenade, Passer promenade, Wandelhalle: all lovingly maintained and the best thing: there is one for every season and every weather.

Rustic chairlift to Dorf Tirol

For all chair lift fans and those who would like to become one: a single chairlift leads from Merano directly to Tirolo. A ride on this old-fashioned-looking vehicle is somewhat of an adventure. But don’t worry, the chair lift is regularly maintained and kept in good shape. So you can relax enjoy the view over Merano and the surrounding area!
